Description: We are seeking an experienced machinist to perform a full range of machinist assignments. Setting and operating lathes, milling machines, precision grinders, and other powered metal-working tools to machine parts to specified dimensions. Shop has a combination of CNC and manual machines; ability to use both is required. Applicants should know how to use precision measuring devices such as digital height gauges, micrometers, vernier calipers and dial indicators to verify conformance of machinist pieces to specifications.
Job Tasks: Perform a full range of machinist assignments; • Studies specifications, blueprints or damaged tools and machine parts to determine nature and dimension of parts to be fabricated. • Selects metallic and nonmetallic materials to be machined and measures, marks or scribes dimensions and reference points on to stock preparatory to machining operations. • Sets and operates lathes, milling machines, precision grinders, drill presses, band saws, and other powered metal-working tools to machine parts to specified dimensions. • Uses precision measuring devices such as height gauges, micrometers, vernier calipers and dial indicators to verify conformance of machinist pieces to specifications. • Uses mechanic’s hand tools such as files, scrapes, mallets, wrenches, screwdrivers and riveters to fit and assemble parts and assemblies. • Operates machines and other mechanisms to observe operation and diagnosis malfunctions or to test repaired equipment. • Keeps records and reports use of equipment. • Develops specifications from general description of parts or assemblies to be fabricated and draws or sketches device to be made. • Operates bench grinder to sharpen cutting tools. • Performs routine or preventive maintenance and repair, lubrication and cleaning of machine tools, equipment and mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. • Designs and constructs jigs and special tools to facilitate the machining, assembly, or disassembly or parts and assemblies. • Makes estimates of time and materials required to complete an assignment. • May assist in the training of trades helpers and others. • Performs related work appropriate to the classification as assigned.

Salary: Hourly pay rate based upon relevent experience
Required Experience: • Knowledge of the methods, practices, tools and equipment of the machinist trade. • Knowledge of the machining qualities, properties and uses of various metals such as aluminum, brass, steel, cast iron and stainless steel. • Knowledge of Dip Braze Assemblies and Rotary Joints preferred. • Skill in the operation of machine tools and the use of precision measuring devices. • Ability to apply machinist craft techniques, processes and principles. • Ability to apply shop mathematics to practical problems such as computing dimensions, laying out work and setting up machine tools. • Ability to read and work from sketches, specifications and blueprints.

Description: Procure various commodity purchase-related components related to inventory, services, supplies, and capital goods.
Job Tasks: • Quote & purchase components or machine parts to meet work loads as needed and suggests vendor placement of orders. • Manages MRO requisitions and purchase orders. • Responsible for negotiating price, delivery, and credit terms & C of C’s. • Evaluates vendor quotes to determine most desirable suppliers. • Coordinate activities with Production & Inventory Control departments to determine most cost-effective buys or inventory re-order levels. • Ensures that purchasing efforts remain within budget. • Works with production and manufacturing staff to plan purchasing schedule. • Expedites purchases to ensure production schedule is supported • Works with Quality as liaison to vendor for non conformance resolution, including returned product. • Works with Accounting to resolve vendor invoice issues. • Minimal supervision, with latitude for independent judgment. • Periodically reviews vendor performance and requirements. • Establishes effective communication between materials, production assembly, test, quality control machine shop and repair departments in order to achieve goals and plans. • Project assignments (leader or team member) as required. • Keeps informed of the most current purchasing trends and technologies.

Salary:
Required Experience: • Broad knowledge of microwave materials and assembly & test • Ability to read/interpret engineering drawings. • Detail knowledge of ERP (VISUAL) system and personal computer databases. • Basic machining and QC inspection background. • Ability to prioritize purchases based on vendor and customer milestones • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
